Report - Employment in Summit County and the Role of The Job Center
The Summit County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS), desires to better understand the employment and workforce situation in Summit County and Northeastern Ohio. Of primary interest is how The Job Center in Summit County can develop strong networks with a number of constituent groups and businesses in the county that will provide destination locations to which The Job Center can send its customers for employment opportunities. At the same time, these businesses would reciprocate by including The Job Center in their restructuring endeavors as a viable resource for employees that have just been laid off. By doing this, a two way relationship between The Job Center and key local businesses can be solidified. To accomplish this, The Summit County Department of Job and Family Services, under the direction of Summit County Executive, Russell M. Pry contracted with the Suarez Applied Marketing Research Laboratories at The University of Akron to complete a multi-phased research and marketing project.
